Did I ever tell you about the time Will and I decided to participate in our local theater's Harry Potter costume contest (Will as Hagrid and I as Rita Skeeter) during the midnight release of Deathly Hollows Pt 1? I was super excited as we were driving there wondering who other people would be dressed up as. When we got to the theater it was pretty obvious we were the only ones, besides the employees, to actually dress up, haha! Needless to say we won all the great prizes that they were giving out, score us!

ReplyDeleteI love any excuse to get decked out in costume. When I worked at a shoe store in a suburban mall, many years ago, they had a halloween costume contest for the store employees. I was determined to win. I made a 4x6 ft shoe box, crafted two 5 ft long black pumps that fit inside, and wore it strapped to my body with suspenders.
Only two other people dressed up, in store bought costumes no less, so they cancelled the contest. I was not happy.
Oh my word your costume sounds absolutely AMAZING! That really sticks that they canclled the contest, I would have been so mad!

hahaha! I love that you guys were practically the only ones that dressed up. LOVE your costumes!
ReplyDeleteThat's so awesome; everyone else was too boring too dress up! I remember going to one of those midnight screenings of the Rocky Horror Show and most people had dressed up in little stockings and corsets and maids outfits and I felt woefully inadequate in my normal clothes so I made it my mission to break out the fancy dress whenever I could!
ReplyDeleteYour Rita Skeeter was on point! I worked at Barnes and Noble during the release of The Order of the Phoenix and there were people dressed up galore, even babies! So good. I'm a major Harry Potter person, I even have a teeny tattoo of glasses with a scar above them :)
ReplyDeleteSo fun!! Love it!! Have a great week! xo Heather
