I wore this outfit yesterday when we had to take Will's truck down to Winchester to get checked out. It was so cold! It was one of those days that if there was no wind it would have been ok, but the wind was whipping, burr! I'm in love with this outfit! These tights were something I was given for the wedding. I ended up not using them at the time, but I held on to them because they are such a great color.

When I first got this dress I wasn't all that into it. It was part of a buy one get one free sale at Forever 21 and the free rack was pretty picked over, so this was the best thing left. It sat in my closet for a little while before I pulled it back out and fell in love with it! I really enjoy when that kind of thing happens, especially when you get the item for free! It reminds me of the painting smocks we wore in art class in middle school.

My shirt is seriously something I have had since middle school (seriously), and it's my favorite. It recently got a hole in one of the elbows so I sewed the little heart elbow patches. Personally, I think all shirts and sweaters should be required to come with elbow patches because they are simply amazing!
As I mentioned before I am so in love with colored and patterned tights, they are such a fun way to spruce up an outfit. However, the last two pair I have picked up from Target both had hole in them before I even put them on (major bummer). Can you return tights if you find a hole in them the first time you put them on? Or are you just out of luck because you have already put them on?
Where do you guys usually get your tights?
Also can I just say how happy I was when reading all your comments about Wig-wog going for a walk with us? Because it seriously was the best thing ever! After seeing this Mo Rocca segment I remember thinking 'Oh man what I would give to have a kitty that would go on walks with me' and it happened, haha. Oh my goodness, I can just be too ridiculous sometimes, hehe.
Hope everyone is having a nice Friday!

I love it! It reminds me of an art smock, too, which is probably why I like it :) How awesome that it was free!
ReplyDeleteTarget is my go-to place for tights, but I'm thinking I need to invest in some better quality ones. I pulled out my brown tights that I bought last year and they're already a little stretched feeling :(
Oh super super cute outfit! I LOVE your style. That dress would have had the meh effect on me at first too, I think pairing it with that striped shirt (which holy crap is adorable to have had for so long) makes it all just perfect! I happen to be wearing red tights today, got them at Target and LOVE them. That's where I usually get my tights or Kohl's, but I'm just now stepping out of my shell of colorful tight wearing so I'm still kind of a noob!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

I agree: all shirts and sweaters should come with patches and all skirts and dresses should come with pockets. What a cute idea. I need to do this! Have a great weekend, dear. xo
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I love those tights! And the whole outfit. And seriously, what's up with dresses without pockets?!
ReplyDeleteI'm such a sucker for buy one get one free deals, and if you go up to buy only one thing you have to explain that you don't like anything else in the store. Awkward. If it's really bad then I'll buy the prettiest thing either for a friend or to donate. I love these bright tights, they're gorgeous. I'm quite fussy with my tights., I get all my black ones from Marks and Spencers because they are great quality, although quite expensive, but I'm not so fussy about patterned or coloured ones so I get them from Primark. They aren't great but they do the job for those rare days I wear them xo
ReplyDeleteI have totally returned tights to Target that had a hole in them the first time I wore them, no problem. target is the best! Cute outfit, I really like your classes.
ReplyDeleteI love those elbow patches on the shirt! It looks darling. And I loveee that jacket! I am obsessed with things like that right now. You are so cute and I love your blog girlie!
ReplyDeleteAdorable outfit. I have red tights that are my favourites, too. They are super torn and mangled, but luckily all of that action is hidden by skirts and dresses.
ReplyDeleteI have bought most of my tights at Value Village during the Halloween season. They get brand new ones in and they are always amazing colours.. and they're cheap. There's just no going wrong.
loving the elbow patches on your top! way too cute. as for tights, most of mine are from gap. they are pretty good quality for the price, and sometimes they have 2 for $20 deals!
ReplyDeleteYou are the cutest ever. I want everything you wear! Tights are tough, I'm super picky about how they fit and how they feel. I'm so weird about the way certain fabrics feel against my skin! I know a lot of people swear by Sock Dreams though!
ReplyDeleteThere's that awesome coat! I've been keeping my eye out for one since you first posted about it!
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit, especially the dress.
Such a great coat! And love those photos!!

ReplyDeleteYou look so stinking cute! That dress looks great on you, the patches on your sleeves are cute as a button and the best part is it looks comfortable to wear. Perfect fall outfit.
ReplyDeleteLove that dress! My husband likes to make fun of me because it's hard to look good for pictures when you take your coat off and it's super chilly! :D

ReplyDeleteHi there! Thanks for commenting on my blog. You are so very cute! If I lived in a tiny country town, building a home, I would never get dressed up cute! And you are cute to the max! And please... return the tights. I have a loose return policy for me personal code of conduct.
ReplyDeletethat's a great coat! you have nice style!
ReplyDeleteHowdy! I absolutely LOVE your coat. The colors are amazing. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for southwestern patterns. As far as tights go i usually purchase mine from ModCloth. They are a tad expensive yes... but the quality is very nice. But if I'm in a pinch there is always Target! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! And I even have the same coat, I'm in love with it! :) And that dress is really pretty, amazing that you got it for free xo
